GV Home Watch has compiled a list of the most asked questions. If you have a question that is not on this list, please feel free to reach out to us.

Home watch is a “visual observation of a home or property looking for obvious issues”. The service is designed to give you peace of mind while you are away from your home. GV Home Watch will send you a detailed checklist of all elements of your home, on the same day of inspection. If an issue does arise, you would be notified immediately so the problem can be delt with efficiently.

Any unoccupied home is a vulnerable home. If you are away from your home for a period of time, a home watch company is highly recommended. Don’t trust one of your most important assets to “neighbors doing a favor”. Unforeseen damage can happen at any time… so it’s not a matter of IF, it’s a matter of WHEN. Let us be your peace of mind.

An alarm company monitors entry into your home but they do not monitor potential issues that can occur due to leaks, mold, pests, or damage. We provide a physical presence that can identify those problems or the possibility and notify you for the action needed.

No, unfortunately, live-in house sitting is not a service we provide.  Our service is to provide scheduled visits to your home where we follow a detailed checklist. We take great pride in ensuring your home is as you left it when you return.

No, this is not a service we provide at this time.

We are happy to assist in other services you may need help with.

A Home Watch service is not a 24-7 hour security company and does not respond to these types of situations, however in an unfortunate event of an emergency at your home we would notify you immediately, and work with the proper authorities and assist in any way possible. A home watch service can be on a list to call to respond as a key holder after the security or emergency personnel have checked and secured the perimeter of the home.

GV Home Watch will send you a detailed report accompanied by pictures and details by email upon completion of our visit to your home. If any problems found at our inspection, the report will highlight the issue found with the details. If the issue requires immediate attention, we will contact you immediately to discuss what occurred and what action is needed to take place. If we cannot reach you, we will contact your emergency contact person you provided or appropriate authority in order to have the situation addressed.

No, we are not a handyman service, but would be happy to coordinate access to your property to a service person and remain on site to ensure the work is completed for an hourly rate.

We are not property inspectors or mold inspectors. That line of work carries a much different certification and training.

We will agree on a schedule you feel comfortable with. Too many things can go wrong while you are away so to ensure problems aren’t going to arise we recommend weekly visits.

We are happy to start your car or golf cart as part as our additional services we provide.

Absolutely, we can coordinate access to your property and remain on-site at an hourly rate. All we need is the date and time and any specific instructions you have. We do ask for at least 48 hour notification for this service.

Insurance Fact:

Did you know? The most frequent and costly claim to insurers is burst pipes. This is why most policies have a “Duty of Reasonable Care” clause, which protects the insurer from paying out to policy holders that have not “sufficiently taken all reasonable steps and precautions to prevent accidents or losses to the property insured” Many homeowners may also be unaware that some homeowner’s insurance policies may not pay claims if the property is vacant for weeks and/or months at a time. Regular checks by GV Home Watch, effectively shows that you have taken the proper steps to prevent accidents and losses, which in turn, deters the potential of a denied claim from ever being an issue.
